Introduction

My name is Terrin Sharp I was born and raised in West Englewood of Chicago, IL I have three beautiful children that I'm raising in the admonition of the Lord. My passion is living for the Lord, my children and helping others who are oppressed and discarded find hope in the only one who gives us freedom and true purpose in this life.

Art has been a passion of mine since I was in grammar school. I would finish my classwork in a timely fashion to allot enough time to sketch. I sat at my kitchen table of my home for hours, drawing my favorite cartoons, drawing celebrities out of magazines, I even drew portraits of my neighbors to develop a better skill set. I knew somehow art would be a part of my path.

 

During my years of school I took a detour and went after becoming a nurse since I enjoy helping others. As I continued in my journey things shifted , I did a lot of soul searching and began to seek the lord on what my purpose was. So I  looked for careers that fit my skill set and interest. I was drawn to Art Therapy and immediately knew it was the field for me. In art therapy I am able to utilize my skills in art and help others. 

 

I obtained my Master's in Counseling and Art Therapy and started working  as an Art Therapist at a therapeutic day school helping youth with learning disabilities and social and emotional barriers. I currently work at an alternative High School helping at risk youth.  My goal is to help at risk youth on a larger scale in the future.
