Introduction

The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. Proverbs 20:27

My name is Terrin Sharp I was born and raised in West Englewood of Chicago, IL I have three beautiful children that I'm raising in the admonition of the Lord. My passion is living for the Lord, my children and helping others who are oppressed and discarded find hope in the only one who gives us freedom and true purpose in this life.

Art has been a passion of mine since I was in grammar school. I would finish my classwork in a timely fashion to allot enough time to sketch. I sat at my kitchen table of my home for hours, drawing my favorite cartoons, drawing celebrities out of magazines, I even drew portraits of my neighbors to develop a better skill set. By the time I went to high school I knew art would be apart of my profession. I got discouraged before I graduated, by others who didn’t see being an artist as a promising career, so I buried my dream and went after another. I’m a very compassionate person and I’ve always wanted to help others, so I decided to go to college to become a registered nurse. I took many classes in relation to the study of the body and it was interesting to me. I developed a liken to the medical field and was confident in landing a career that would benefit others, and myself. Life took another turn and after several attempts in getting into different nursing schools I did a lot of soul searching and began to seek the lord on what my purpose was. So I  looked for careers that fit my skill set and interest. I was drawn to Art Therapy and immediately knew it was the field for me. I'm currently obtaining my Master's in Counseling and Art Therapy. God's divine purpose for my life, my history in the medical field, my passion for art, and helping people led me down this path. Through the course of my life I've experienced a brokenness that only a divine encounter could fix. I used my art  to begin to heal and was prophetically opened to my God given purpose. This is only the beginning of something great!
